OrganPoint12

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, the popular short concert series OrganPoint12 begins at noon.

The concert is titled "Amitiés" – Franco-German Friendships, featuring works by Alexandre Guilmant and Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, with Thorsten Pech (Weimar) at the organ. Admission is free; a donation for church music is requested at the exit.

Biography: Thorsten A. Pech, born in Wuppertal in 1960, maintains an active concert schedule both in Germany and abroad as an organist and conductor. In addition to his studies in Wuppertal and Vienna, international concert tours have taken him to China, Japan, Russia, Poland, and many European countries. Numerous CD recordings, compositions – primarily for trumpet and organ – and the publication of forgotten organ works document his artistic output. From 1989 to 2021, he directed the Düsseldorf Bach Society and until 2025, the Wuppertal Concert Choir. In 1998, he was appointed "Music Director" by the Association of German Professional Choral Conductors, and in 2016 he received the Enno and Christa Springmann Foundation Prize.

30 Years of World Heritage

In 1996, the castle church was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as an almost completely preserved prime example of 19th-century monument preservation. From 2012 to 2016, it was renovated and restored with funding from the State of Saxony-Anhalt, the Federal Republic of Germany, the European Union, and private donors.
